If you are looking to start a career in financial planning, there is no better place to start than the Certified Financial Planner Exam.
About the CFP
The CFP designation is the industry standard for financial planners with the highest degree of experience, education, and ethics. To get certified, and make yourself really stand out from other financial professionals in the job market, the first step is taking the CFP Exam offered by the CFP Board.
The exam is only offered three times per year, and has education requirements before you are allowed to sit. However, professionals who do pass the first round of the exams are far more likely to be actively recruited by Financial Planning firms, since it demonstrates not just an extremely high degree of competence, but also a strong ethical foundation and dedication to the profession.
According to PayScale, CFP adds over $9,000 to entry-level starting salaries
According To Money Magazine and Payscale.com (CFP Board 2015)
Since reserving a spot can only happen in a narrow window, almost all candidates (particularly those who pass) use a comprehensive review kit covering all topics present in the 6-hour exam.
